I haven't posted for a while.

I have been so busy and at least I am managing to keep my main blog updated http://crafty-devils.blogspot.com/

Still no luck on the house selling front I am beginning to think we will be here forever

Gorgeous girl card

Posted on 07/04/2009 09:47:40

To make this card I used Do crafts little girl stamp which I coloured with watercolours, then layered up.

The backing papers are from Anna Griffin and I stamped using Craftwork cards Choko stamps.

I finished off with sparkly accents and raffia and a handmade sentiment.

Will try to blog........

.......regularly.

It's not easy you know - trying to think up interesting things to write all the time. And then when you do go to the effort of updating , no-one looks at it. Oh well at least I can look and remember what I did when even if I can't interest any one else. By the way I have started to upload project instructions on my other blog (if anyone is interested of course)

Has it really been that long?

Posted on 07/10/2008 07:22:02

Since I updated my blog.

I have just not had chance or really been in the mood.

I have been ill on and off and still feel a bit yeuk some days, but I am looking forward to a romantic week away with Dave next week.

We are heading off to the Highlands (we just love it up there)

Then two weeks later I am heading down to Surrey with Liam as he is in a tv programme and they are filming at the end of Oct.

Then two week after that I am heading off to Birmingham with my friend Crafty Noo Noo for three days for the craft show at NEC.

Wow busy, busy, busy.

At the moment I am eagerly awaiting the start of Gems TV I have had some lovely pieces of jewellry in their £1-00 crash event and can't wait to see if I can get any more today (I just love my jewellery)

Oh well that's it for today, I will try and get back to posting regularly.

See you soon craft lovers....

The Yorkshire Mining Museum...

Posted on 22/08/2008 09:11:01

.... again a free day out to a museum and very relevant to Boodles as she has just been working on coal mining at school.

We had the opportunity to go down into the pit where we learnt about coal mining throughought the ages, we had to bend down to see inside one of the caves and my knees locked so I had to be helped up (how embarassing was that - still it gave everyone a good laugh).

It brought back alot of memories as I come from a minig family and my Dad had an accident down the pit which affected the rest of his life.

We took a large picnic  which is always good fun.

Afterwards we went to visit my familie's grave in the Village where I grew up.

Imperial War Museum...

Posted on 22/08/2008 08:58:26

...what a great day out and it was free as well.

I took Liam and Boodles and we spent most of the day there.

Firstly we went into the Horrible Histories world war 1 part, they loved it as it was aimed at children.

Then we went into the main part which covered the war timeline with regular 360 degree shows.

It was a very interesting day out and since they had recently worked on the two wars in school it was all still relevant to them.

Afterwards Liam and I went up the tower where we could see out across the Quay.

Days out to

Posted on 10/08/2008 11:23:49

Southport - I decided to take Liam and Boodles to Southport on Monday, the plan was to go to to Dobbies on the way which we did and I bought one or two craft items (as you do) then onto the shops in Southport, after a bit of a wander around (and the purchase of a few more craft items) we went onto the slots and I challenged them to a few games of air hockey (we just love playing that) I won of course!!!!

We were then going to go to the beack and fly kites before going to meet Dave after work to go for a meal, that's when everything went wrong... Dave had locked himself out and couldn't get in to change so we had to head back to the car and set off home, half way back he rings to say he'd found his keys but by then he didn't feel like going out for a meal, we hadn't had anything to eat and so I had to set about cooking as soon as I got in... men ....

Oh dear oh dear....

....what a week first I was taken ill (24hr bug thing) so I had to miss my craft club, I really enjoy going there too.

Then on Thursday I went over in the garden (I have week ankles and every so often they give way) and twisted my foot and scraped it all on the rocks, so I was on crutches temporarily.

I have own pair of crutches ready for when I need them.

Still on Saturday I decided to go to the QVC outlet with Liam and got a pink big bite plus four hundred grommits for £7-50 a bargain, I also got some other bits and pieces.

We went from there to an open day at Birchwood Fire Station, Liam loved it and the weather stayed fine.

Now today I have to go out to buy some more Silicone glue as I seem to have lost my one and only tube (it will be sat laughing at me somewhere obvious) of course this means that I will probably buy other things, oh well a crafter's got to do what a crafter's got to do...

What a scorcher....

Barbecue time

...it's been so hot and Sunday was just glorious so there was nothing else to do but have a barbecue - well you have to don't you.

So we dug  out the tools fired up the coals, picked the Rosemary and salad, then set about the task of feeding the five thousand (well that's what it felt like)

It was a wondrous spread of chicken, burgers, sausages,  kebabs, veg burgers (for me of course), baby potatos, mushrooms, garlic bread, salad, salsa, crisps, etc etc all washed down with icy lager, shandy and ginger beer.

After the phenominal spread we had a game of garden dominoes and tag and a water fight.. oh what joy.

This is what summer is all about!!!

Didn't we have a lovely day the day we went to.....

Liam candle making
Dave and Liam on Dodgems

.....Wales.

Oh yes Saturday was a glorious day the sun was shining and all was well with the world.

So we packed a picnic and set off for Corris in Wales.

It was lunchtime when we arrived so first thing was to have the picnic, I had frozen the fruit drinks so that by the time we wanted them they had defrosted and were icy cold (lovely and refreshing)

Then we made our way to King Arthur's Labyrinth.

This consisted of a ride on a boat along an underground river and a walk through some very dark - and at places very low caves (hence we had to wear helmets at all times)

We learnt all about King Arthur and it was quite an enjoyable experience - once you got used to the dark.

At Corris there is an assortment of craft shops including - yes you guessed it, a papercraft shop, where I got some paper made from of all things sheep poo.

Liam made some candles and we got some clay for him to have a go at pot making later in the week.

I also bought some leather to make keyrings and bracelets etc.

Next was the Baird's Quest, which was a maze with areas where you could listen to stories of old, and a quiz to do.

We spent most of the day there but there was time for a visit to the lovely town of Barmouth where we had chips and went in a few shops.

Then after an ice-cream which melted so fast in the heat that we were covered in it.

Afterwards Dave and Liam went on the Dodgems and we all went for a stroll along the beach before heading back.

Needless to say it was rather late when we got home where we all tumbled into bed half asleep...
